My SO and I are at my parents house, and I wanted to take a picture in front of their Christmas tree for a holiday party invite for our friends I want to get mailed out. I’m trying to take a pic of us with his phone, and my mom’s right there, and as we check for how the picture came out I deleted it because we didn’t like it. Well the picture that came up that was the most recent pic in his, gallery was a screenshot of an engagement ring! It even said “wedding” somewhere on the screen. My mom couldn’t help but let out a little squeal so I quickly got out of it and then resumed taking pics. she whispered, “was that a…?” And I had to shush her. I don’t think SO saw that we saw it. It’s so exciting! We have discussed that I like moissanite but not styles or anything, I had no idea he may be actually thinking/looking at rings. I had a good feeling yesterday….he went to the mall by himself bc I was staying home cleaning and recovering from shopping Thurs and very early yesterday. He didn’t come home with any bags from the mall. We went out last night, and when walking from car to front door he didn’t grab my hand like normal but my arm, like how you do when walking down the aisle. He was cheesy grinning at me and I said “what?” and he said “nothing, I just love you so much.” I also was joking today about my birthday and our anniversary (in Jan) and said he can consolidate bday, anniversary and vday with one expensive gift, and he said, “why, what do you want?” teasing and I said “you know” with a smile and he said “we’ll see” with a smile. :o)
We’ve been super mushy happy lately and this phase is just so exciting. I’m trying to be good and not mention it and an accidental peek like that makes it tough!!

It definitely sounds like you have a proposal in your very near future. Stay patient and try with all your might not to let it slip that you saw the picture. But most importantly…. CONGRATS!!!! π

@MsYankee: Well hopefully he doesn’t keep you waiting too long. The husband and I went ring shopping together and we pick up the ring together. He made me wait a month before he proposed. And he knows I am not a patient person at all. So that was the longest month of my life. I was so excited when he finally popped the question though. Good Luck to you!! π

So to keep my mind off everything (when? WHEN??!!) I am kicking into gear my New Years resolution to get healthy and lose some weight a month or so early. I figure the earlier the better to start in the quest to be healthy and look and feel great. Also, in the back of mind I’m thinking if the proposal happens sooner than later, I have less time to lose what I want to lose before dress shopping (eeeek! exciting!), so I should start now. Then I look at it as, if he takes 3-6 more months to propose (I’m being generous, I’ll prob. lose my mind if he takes that long haha), that gives me 3-6 more months of trying to lose this weight before the pressure of dress shopping, engagement pics, etc. (so spin it to a positive, see? :o) )
Anyway, Weight Watchers sent me an email with 50% the first month’s membership price, so I can go to unlimited meetings and have full access to their online tools, etc. for $20. I figure that’s a good deal and before hesitating signed up for a meeting tonight! SO works until 9 pm. so I’m free to get going on Operation: Look My Best For The Wedding Dress (aka keep mind off of impending engagement!)
Tips from bees who have done WW?

@MsYankee: Working out and getting healthy is a great way to get your mind off things!! I haven’t done WW but have a friend who is doing it now, and she likes it – otherwise you could try out a free website/calorie tracker/exercise tracker like myfitnesspal.com or fatsecret.com if you wanted to save some money! π Either way, good luck and fingers crossed for a proposal soon!!

Ok I know I wasn’t going to focus on it but just a little update:
Yesterday we got some promotional mail for an Alaska cruise because I had signed up since we were going to take one next year but then due to saving money decided to postpone for a little bit.
Anyway, we were on the couch and I was on the laptop, he was reading through the brochure and said to me “Oh, this would be good for our honeymoon, look – 12 days….” etc. He said it so matter-of-fact, like we were sitting there actually planning our honeymoon. haha. I had to do my best to have a poker face and just say “oh that would be nice” etc. while he was pointing out stuff about our honeymoon.
hehehe :o)
