So I stopped taking birth control pills on July 24th, had my on the pill ‘period’ and didn’t start the next pack. I started charting right away and if I was going to have a 28 day cycle, I’d be ready to O today. Clearly not happening- judging by opk, temps and cervical fluid. My question is Bees, after going off the pill how long did it take you to ovulate? Also, my temps are all in the 96 degree range- wondering if its still progesterone in my system or maybe too soon after BCP for charting to be any kind of accurate? I know my cycle may take a while to get back to normal , just wondering what other Bees experienced π Any info welcome!

I got off BCP last September. I had one 42-day cycle in which I did not ovulate, then a 56-day cycle in which i did not ovulate, and then on my third extra-long cycle I did ovulate and actually got pregnant! I was only charting temps, because I figured trying to chart CM was a waste of time if I wasn’t ovulating and my body was still all messed up from the BCP. Charting temps alone showed me that I didn’t ovulate those first two cycles, and then on the third cycle when I did ovulate, my CM still didn’t “act right” as my body still wasn’t fully recovered from the BCP. Though apparently that didn’t slow DH’s sperm down a bit, haha.
As for the temps, my chart for that third cycle was picture-perfect — temps in the 96-degree range all month and then suddenly popped up to 97.5 and stayed there. So 96 range is totally normal. Just make sure to keep track of when you drink alcohol, as I found that almost any drinking at all made my temps WAY high the next morning. I pretty much just didn’t even chart temps on the weekends, haha. Made the chart too confusing!

My last pack ended in December. My cycles since then have been mostly in the 40-something day range, with a few oddballs. I didn’t start charting until halfway through my last cycle, so I can’t be 100% sure, but I don’t think I ovulated until March, and then again last cycle and this cycle. My pre-O temps are typically in the high 96 to low 97 range and then jump to high 97 – low 98 after O…so far, anyway. π

I think I responded to another thread you posted about getting off BCP…but anyway, I got off of them at the beginning of the month and I feel like my body is all over the place. I haven’t been temping, so I have no idea if I’ve ovulated. CM has been weird. AF is actually a week late…which I kind of expected to happen, but still, I was kind of nervous so I took a pregnancy test this afternoon and it was negative. Guess I should test in the morning again to be sure! I think I’m going to start temping next cycle. I wasn’t planning to do that right away, but I would like to get a better idea of what’s going on!

I finished my BCPs at the beginning of July, and started charting the first day of my ‘BCP period’. I’ve mostly just been temping, but recording CM when I notice it. I believe I ovulated this month, as I had temps between 36.15-36.55 for the first few weeks, and then between 36.50-36.80 for the last two weeks. It was a 31 day cycle, which is pretty consistent with what it was before I was on BCP. I was only on BCP for a year though, so I don’t know if that affects it.

@iarebridezilla: @emb610: you’re making me feel better about my 96 temps! I’ve been using the chart from TCOYF and it only goes between 97 and 99 so I’ve been getting nervous that 96 is too low.
@littlebee3: yes, you did respond to my last post! π I got over my anxiety about stopping the pill and just went for it. Was hoping for a 28 day cycle lol, I knew it was a super super long shot. Just hoping to O at all I guess! I feel like I’m all over the place too- cm is super weird too (tmi but its like a different type everyday with no rhyme or reason!)

@SeaTurtle88: You can get a “low temp” (96-98) chart here: http://www.tcoyf.com/content/MasterCharts.aspx
Or, you can join Fertility Friend and chart online or via the app. π

I didn’t ovulate for about 3 months after stopping BC. Then I had a normal (for me) cycle of about 45 days, followed by another 3 month cycle. My last two and hopefully future cycles have all been normal. My temps have always been consistantly around 97.3 pre O, and about 98 post O. (+/- .3)
