I’ve been to 3 bridal stores and tried on about 20 dresses total. The first two stores, I liked some stuff but didn’t get any “feelings.” Not even a big smile — except when I looked at a picture of one on the way home. The 2nd store, I really liked 2 dresses and got a big smile and a “sorta” feeling, but I really didn’t like any of the pictures I looked at afterwards.
Now I’m starting to get nervous — like I have NO idea where to look, what to try on, or what I even want now. Ugh. Frustrated. I know I WILL find the dress but I did not expect it to be this hard!
Here’s pics of my 3 faves if anyone wants to offer opinions:
I think the first one looks the best but I HATE the ruffle on the side!
on the 2nd one, I would get more beading work and full length (excuse my Flinestone feet and the fact that it’s sideways — my computer is being stupid).
The 3rd one is very comfy and I’d probably get more beading and straps but I don’t think it’s very flattering or unique.

It sounds like you need a good consultant! Where did you go, if you don’t mind me asking?

I like the first one as well, but think the side ruffle is awkward, too. Try to find a similair style without the ruffle? The shape looks really great on you, and so does that particular neckline.
I think the other two are boring.

I don’t care for the second two on you. The first one is more exciting, but I agree..don’t like the ruffle..especially from the back!
Have you tried on many strapless dresses? I think they would look more youthful and flattering on you than the straps.
I think ballgown looks good on you; I also think maybe fit and flare or mermaid could look good on you and give you more of a pronounced shape!

I really like the shape of the first one on you! The deep neck is really beautiful and the shape is great on your figure! I’m sure you could find a similar style without the ruffle. The structure of the first gives you such a great waistline!

The first one is SO beautiful with those crystals. You look great in all of them though. #1 is my favorite. It just looks so soft and romantic and you waist looks GREAT in it. 🙂

Keep looking!!! I didn’t even get a strong wow this could be the one until the forth store and I thought maybe i wouldn’t have that feeling. Hone in on a shape that you really like and flatters you and go from there. Once you find the shape you like you can pull dresses without having to go through so many. I ended up getting one at the fifth shop and it had all the elements you are looking for. i probably put on at least 60 dresses before I made a decision!!

I really love the first one on you. Maybe look for others to try on in that shape.

@Roe: I went to David’s in Monroeville 1st (nothing even worth posting). Then I went to MB Bride next (that’s where I found pic #1 — it’s Mori Lee). The other day I went to Candalina’s in Swissvale (pics 2 & 3 — they’re both Moonlight).
I think the first one is my favorite too, looking back. I just find it so weird that I didn’t feel anything when I had the dress on. Maybe I was too distracted by the ruffle.
And I really, really want straps. I just think strapless is so common now and I want something different.
Thanks for the opinions!
