@peachacid:  Honestly, I just ignore most of the stuff that is posted on FB and filter out people’s statuses that I don’t want to read. Like people who use FB as a means to use it as their personal journal or just write stupid statuses to rile people up and ruffle feathers. Just because it is social networking doesn’t mean you should be an idiot, you know? LOL

I wouldn’t make too much put of it.  People post a lot of ignorant stuff on facebook…you really have to just take it all with a grain of salt.

It is not facebook it is the attitude of some men. I watched it also and I cried because we still have the same problems as they did back then. I have suffered from sexual harassment, no equal pay, and the system in my state where women are not valued, respected, or percieved as equals.

It is a bad feeling to know the work that was established to give us the same rights as a man, only for women to be seen as a bitch if you are strong, assertive, and educated. If it were a man he would be described as a leader.

@JaneyDcat:  +1.

Half the stuff people post on FB I just roll my eyes. You need to not take FB so seriously.

I hate it when someone ruins a post with a stupid comment! I always feel like I have to delete it after, like their posts somehow reflect on me.

Sometimes people have absolutely no restraint on facebook.  I’m amazed at how little consideration they have for others.  I try to use the same politeness on there that I would use in a face to face situation, but I’ve also noticed this is not the norm.

I delete people once I start seeing their true colors! Not sure what it is about FB but some have no filter!

@peachacid:  I think we’ve mentioned each other’s FBILs before.

You picked the right brother.

I also feel like my Future Brother-In-Law would say something ignorant like that.

Whenever someone I know makes a rape joke, I tell him I don’t get it and ask them to explain it to me. watch what hoops they’ll jump through to avoid saying ‘rape is funny.’ they usually end up uncomfortable once they’ve thought about it for longer than 2 seconds. there are some funny rape jokes. wanda sykes told a funny rape joke because it appeals to the victim. how fucked is it that so many people are making rape jokes that appeal to the rapist? says a lot about our society.

This is why i generally stay off facebook. Its just people spewing crap.

But i do like twitter. Lol. And i love pinterest. Maybe its because i personally know the people on facebook so i think less of them? But if an idiot post something on twitter i just unfollow them and move on.

@peachacid:  Ugh, what a prick!  I have a policy where I automatically unfriend someone if they post something racist, homophobic, or sexist.  So Future Brother-In-Law or not, he’d be a gonner.
