I had some major acne issues a few months ago.  I’ve never really had acne before and I think that it was caused by wedding stress and a new moisturizer.  I tried out some different products and now I use Neutrogena Oil-Free Acne Stress Control Power-Foam wash.  My skin looked a bit better in just a few days and a lot better in two weeks.  Since you don’t have that much time, I would try the Proactive Refining Mask in addition to an acne-facewash twice a day.

Neutragena actually makes me break out something fierce. Proactive is really helpful, too. If it’s really really bothering, you could always swing into a makeup counter and have them apply some cover up to your face and show you how they do it. Then you can buy the concealer they use and maybe the brush, too, and then you forever know how to cover up your breakouts in the future. Some bronzer helps too

I think since you’ve only got a few days, you’re going to need to cover it up Saturday. Use some salycic acid face wash in the meantime with little scrubber beads. Be careful if you have any scabs though otherwise you’ll get a discoloration scar. At the very least you’ll have some skin discoloration. I use a clay mask in the evenings to really draw out the oil when my face gets bad. Go easy on the face makeup until then. That makes me super self conscious and I hate that I will proably be in my office with zero face makeup all next week so I don’t magically get pimples the day before my wedding.

The Zeno! It’s an expensive ($100) little machine that you can buy at any CVS or drugstore. It has a little heated tip that you press against your acne. It sounds crazy, but it works! It’s especially great for those deep ones that hurt like a bruise and take forever to go away – two or three zaps and voila, it’s history. Painless and amazing.

Thanks, snmcdowell! I tend to get those deep painful ones more than anything else. They hurt SOOOO bad and you can’t do squat about them! My Fiance gets those, too. I might have to run out and buy one right before the wedding if I have an emergency flair up.

I swear by Mario Badescu drying lotion. It shrinks zits overnight.

Scrubs have made my acne worse in the past. I use a gentle cleanser and then treat my face. But the best thing has been finally going to a dermatologist!

i just posted a long post about foods with nutrasweet and sorbitol in them too – but i will repost here…

be very careful also of what you are eating and drinking…

i found over the years that i have an allergy to Sorbitol, Nutrasweet, Maltitol (anything with a tol on the end) and sorbitan… these are artificial sweeteners in MANY foods and drinks – including GUM!  try not drinking any diet sodas and watch ingredients in chocolate covered foods (i just had 4 malt balls – SUGAR malt balls – not diet and there was sorbitan in the chocolate coating!) I broke out on my jaw line and my forehead 🙁

see if this works for you – just be very careful for the next few weeks and see if it clears up for you…

ALSO – some shampoos AND moisturizing makeup and creams including handcreams have sorbitol in them – i believe it is a preservative… so just look at your lables…

i now look at EVERYTHING – it’s a pain but worth having clear skin for!

OH and By The Way – i went to a dermatologist and she thought i was nuts to think these chemicals were breaking me out… obviously becuase she didnt have this issue it wasnt real to her!  i can literally chew sugar free gum and have acne within an hour or 2.  it IS real (for me)…

good luck!
