I’ve used pro-activ and while it’s not for everyone, I had great success with it.

It is harsh and I do have to make sure to carry moisturizer with me incase my face feels tight, but otherwise, I love it.  FI noticed a big difference and my skin looked younger too

Clean and clear continuous control face wash, terminator 10 by acne free as a spot treatment, and neutrogena face lotion. I had cystic acne, and this is the only regimen that has worked for me, and I have tried EVERYTHING.

Neutrogena 8% glycolic acid toning solution with a mild cleanser and moisturizer. Also a good mutivitamin.

I started drinking Yogi Skin Detox tea a while back, and the change has been INCREDIBLE. Maybe it has to do with drinking more fluids than I was before, but the change is remarkable. I also stopped overusing acne products and switched to a very gentle cleanser, which counterintuitively might have also helped.

i just went to the dermatologist for acne and they recommended taking a zinc and copper supplement for acne!  I haven’t seen any difference yet but it’s only been a week!

I have tried EVERYTHING and I really mean everything.  The only thing that worked for me is Spironolactone.

You need an antibiotic.  TRUST ME.  Because of the location of your break outs, it’s bacterial.  I have suffered with it for a long time, tried everything from drug store products to $100+ products.  Go to a dermatologist and ask them about: Doxycycline, tetracycline, or mynocycline.  I have taken all of them over the years and within a few weeks, all of my breakouts were gone.

I’m usually not a fan of taking medications however in some cases, you need to.

I battle acne constantly. Currently my skin is the clearest it’s been. heres my method that works for me…

Oil of Olay sensitive face wash ( any gentle cleanser will work the trick is to just lather up like crazy and apply gently)

Neutrogena Sress Control Toner ( salicylic acid is the key for cell turnover)

2.5 % benzoyl peroxide ( my holy grail- skin.org has a great size and I find it on Amazon, or target has a smaller tube)

lastly i started taking a skin/hair/nail supplement containing Zinc. I saw major impovwments within a week.

prior to this I had tried Everything! Every product on TV, every expensive department store brand. If you have any questions ask away. hope this helps!

I never really had a true problem with acne, but  I found I would ALWAYS break out a little on my chin during that time of the month. Since cutting out dairy and wheat and drinking green smoothies ( which contain kale), I never ever break out anymore. I have no idea what part of my diet change caused this, but I know something worked!

CityBearBride:  I’ve just started zinc myself and I saw a difference in a week but it takes a month to fully have an impact. Apparently a zinc deficiency causes acne. Who would’ve guessed?!

I agree about the antibiotics. Dermalogica cosmetics have a range for adult acne.

Also, going into tmi territory, make sure you have regular bowel movements!

I had horrible acne, black heads, chicken grease skin, you name it! the only thing that has worked for was The Body Shop, Tea Tree oil line, Philosphy Purity, hope in jar and help me and my clarisonic, literally changed my face. I use The tea tree oil soap and toner in the morning, and the Philoshy stuff at night.

It is a little on the expensive side, but the acne scars, oily skin, white head…GONE in a month.

TacoriBrideDanielle:  Have you tried zinc (i believe it comes in the form of drops)? One of my friends suggested it to another friend of mine who had been suffering from bad acne all her life (she’s 30). Anyway, her skin cleared up completely. Anyway, if you want more details about what she used, let me know, I can give her a shout and find out ๐Ÿ™‚
