My main problem seems to be on my chest right now. My face is pretty much fine. It hasn’t been a problem for me for years and years, but as soon as I went off BC a couple of months ago it returned with a vengence! I never needed other medication when I was on BC. It’s horrid, since I don’t know how I’m going to wear my strapless wedding dress. 🙁 I hope my MUA can help. I am currently using Phisohex but I don’t think it is working on my chest, if anything it has been getting worse. Seriously considering just going back on BC for a month, but my cycles are all over the place.

I mostly get the terrible cystic/hormonal kind and have tried tons of different medications and routines, and the only things that have ever helped me have been taking a zinc/copper supplement daily and using a gentle glycolic facial cleanser combined with gentle moisturizer and Retin-A. I was skeptical of the difference the zinc would make it my cysts, but WOW–since taking it, my acne cysts are smaller, much more rare, and heal more quickly. I can’t advise that any of this is right for you medically, though, is encourage you to talk to a dermatologist.

The thing that’s worked best for me is benzaclin. It’s a prescription, so it should be easy to get from your doctor. (They even have a generic forumulation now.) It’s a combo of benzoil peroxide and clindamycin. I only get the occasional white head when I use it regularly. When I got off, I get terrible cycstic acne.
I have sensitive, tempramental skin though. If I miss one face washing, I will break out.

ALLL of my friends have told me I was crazy until they tried and saw results!! I am so not kidding. I use California Baby Tea Tree and Lavender shampoo/body wash as my ONLY face wash. It cleans my skin without drying it and it removes all of my makeup (even waterproof eye makeup) without scrubbing! Maybe 2 times a month I’ll exfoliate with st ives apercot scrub. But that’s it!! My skin has never been better, ive been using it for about 4 years now. I have my mom, sister and a few friends hooked!! So inexpensive and so gentle yet it really really cleanses your skin! I would highly recommend you at least give it a try!!

I used to have pretty bad skin as well. I have found that the number one thing to help me clear my skin is to eat vegetables ( red and green bell peppers, tons of salad, cucumber mainly) and DRINK TONS OF WATER. I also recently cut dairy and the results are great. I dont eat processed foods ( white bread, sugard, etc). Everyone is different though…I use the St Ives cleansing face wash and an oil free lotion
