Hmm, I see what you mean, as I go through my music collection and try to imagine different songs played instrumental/acoustic.  Have you asked the DJ for suggestions? I was going to suggest going in a different direction and picking out something that was composed specifically for acoustic guitar, but I don’t know what s/he has in their repertoire and how well they could learn something new before the day.

Have you looked into Vitamin String Quartet? They do covers of many popular rock bands.

@inkedbride:  Have you asked the DJ for suggestions? If he’s done this before and knows your taste, he might have some good ideas. And you’d know he could play them!

we were going to do Sweet Child Of Mine by Guns N Roses because our friend sings and plays it really well on her guitar.

I have friends that are an acoustic band, they do a “heaven” by bryan adams that I LOVE. I know it’s not total rock n roll but something along those lines might work?

@metalbride:  Vitamin String Quartet was my first thought as well. We’re playing a number of their songs for the half hour in between the venue opening/ceremony starting, and may use one (All You Need Is Love) for processional.

Coldplay’s Kingdom Come is beautiful. We’re considering it for our ceremony, same set up–acoustic in the woods. Decemberists Red Right Ankle

@inkedbride:  We have the same tastes! We’re debating weather or not I Will Follow You into the Dark is too morbid for our first dance. If so, it will probably end up in the ceremony instead.
