- Wedding: July 2012
We’re planning on doing the ceremony at about 2pm, followed by an informal afternoon tea reception so all the oldies can be home by 6ish – us young ‘uns will keep partying on for the night though
Because it’s in a garden and during the day, and we don’t want it to be a big, formal, sit-down meal type thing, we’re trying to figure out how to have a fun reception. We’re still going to have some of the more traditional parts of the reception (speeches, dancing, and cake!), but we’re also going to set up some lawn games (bowls, croquet, badminton, etc.), plus the location is absolutely amazing – six acres of beautiful garden, and hopefully anyone that doesn’t want to dance, play games, or look at the garden can just chat with others.
But I keep worrying that it’s going to be totally lame, simply because it’s during the day – do you guys have any advice? Are daytime weddings boring? Would you come to a wedding with croquet and wonder what the heck was going through the bride and groom’s heads?
