i think AP can def have an impact. i used to ovulate CD16-18 and now it is more like CD 13-15. but i’m not just doing AP. i’m also taking chinese herbs along with some other supplements and did a lot of diet changes. so i can’t tell if AP moved my ovulation day or if it was the full package.

@silver1:  i know what you mean. the herbs are not to be compared to a nice glas of wine… lol. you could add some honey (not sugar) to it – that might help. i’m always taking mine after lunch and after dinner and after 10 weeks they are not that bad anymore.

When I did acupuncture last month (no TCM), it moved my O date from CD21 to CD15 (my earliest ever!) If AF comes this cycle, I am definitely going back 🙂

Just giving this a little bump 🙂 My massage clinic has an acu clinic as well and i’m tempted to call and set up an appt/consult.

I am CD32 with no O (negative OPK’s and no temp spike at all). I O’d around CD17 or CD19 last month with a 33 day cycle. This one is a little wonky… clearly 🙂

For those of you out there doing acu, is there research showing that it can help/trigger O?

Advice, thoughts, why do you do it?

@StaceyA:  This is why I started it! I haven’t seen AF in almost 3 months, and that is NOT helpful when wanting to TTC. I don’t have a success story yet, because I literally just started, and my AP says it doesn’t work right away. He compared it to going to the gym. You’re not going to get fit by going just once. So I’m taking provera right now to induce a period, and I’m hoping the AP will help me with my next cycle. Isn’t it so frustrating when our bodies don’t want to cooperate??!!

@skipper2010:  Interesting! Have you just come off BC? Always had weird periods? This is month #3 off HBC and of course, my first weird one (of course when we decided to TTC). Not sure whether I want to wait it out or go in and see him for a consult…

@StaceyA:  I was fairly regular before going on the pill. I think the latest I had ever been was about  three weeks, and that was under a lot of stress and traveling to another country. I came off the pill in February, had my breakthrough bleed, then had a 35 day cycle, and then nothing. SUPER frustrating.  It never hurts to go and have a consult. Does he specialize in fertility? AP can get pretty expensive, so you could always wait it out a little while longer too. Maybe AF will show in a few days, and you can start out with a fresh slate.

@StaceyA:  I’ve been going for 3 months every week and I’ve noticed changes.  Less clotting and very red.(Sorry, TMI)  I do “O” on my own so the focus has been to increase blood flow and maintain fertility.  He did notice that I was eating dairy and too much citrus which was causing cramps and higher temperatures.(The last 3 days before AF, I’m on fire)  I love my AP because he notices body changes w/out me even telling him that I’m cheating.

I would definitely go for a consult.  Although my insurance does not pay for the treatment, I use FSA to cover which is a Godsend.

Okay, I didn’t read all the PP’s, and sorry for threadjacking, but does everyone just pay for this out of pocket? Is it worth the money?

@silver1:  Very good to know. $100 per session, is that monthly or weekly or what? I definitely want to fit it into our budget, I’ve heard nothing but rave reviews.
