I’m thinking of buying a preowned dress (pronovias planeta) if it fits me. The only thing I’m woried about is the length, as the seller is a few cm shorter than me. I’m wondering if it’s possible, if the dress is too short, to add some tulle to the hemline so my feet won’t be visible?

Did she wear a slip under it? My slip added a significant amount of poof to my dress, so I barely had to have it hemmed at all [it was hemmed maybe 2 inches at most, and I’m only 5’4″].
If she wore one, you could go without one and it should be long enough.

You could but it would most likely leave a seam line along the bottom of the dress.
Unless the seamstress added a lace applique all the way along the bottom that sort of spread out from the bottom up to hide the line I think the seam would be noticeable and look kind of weird.

I’m not sure what a slip is but if you mean underskirt, I think she did wear one, yes! I do want to wear one myself, though, as I want it to be poofy.
She also wore heels that would make her taller than me, so it will probably work if I wear flats. But I kind of want to wear heels, so I’m trying to find out if there are any possibilities =)

i think its a bit hard to tell just based on height. many things could make a difference, eg size of boobs, overall weight spread. maybe if you ask for measurements from the waist??

I think what OneDayMrsL:
suggested might work. It could look really pretty, too, if you could find lace that worked with the appliques that are already on there.

That’s true. I guess I’ll just have to try it on and see!
<br />I just want to know before I buy, if there are any ways to make it longer 🙂 I’m having a hard time visualizing the lace idea but I could aska seamstress, maybe it could work. thanks!
