As I’ve posted a bazillion times, Fiance and I are having a “faux-to-booth” at our upcoming wedding. He’s a mac developer so he will be creating the photo booth app that we use. We were just discussing how we want it to function and decided that we’ll also make it video capable. So, now our guests will have the option to not only take their own pictures (all remote controlled) but also their own video. We’re really hoping that a lot of people utilize this feature since the video clips would be a perfect addition to our DIY wedding video that we’re going to create afterwards (yea, FI’s like a tech god).
So, whatdya think? Awesome or totally lame?

I think that’s a great idea! I just heard recently about a couple that did a photo-booth like that. The twist was that guest didn’t know it was taking video- and only found out at the end of the night when they played some of the videos on a big screen!
My only concern would be if you could record sound or if it would be too noisy.

@PinkBubbleGum: The camera we’ve purchased has surround sound. We’re (by “we’re” I mean Fiance and FFIL) actually building our own custom “faux-to-booth” so we will be able to somewhat control the sound quality. The booth will also be set up off to the side in our cocktail hour space so I don’t think it will be too rowdy over there.
ETA: I just asked Fiance and apparently we’re able to remove background sound using iMovie. Problem solved! 🙂

I think theyre awesome.
I know that a lot of events I have been to have the videographer come by and say “please send a msg to the bride and groom” or whatever it may be.
I think it’s totally cute!!!

I would love that! But I’d definitely want to know it was taking video beforehand, especially if there was audio.

@tranquility: We were originally planning on having our guests write their guest book entries on though bubbles and then take pictures with them but now I don’t know if I’d rather have a video guest book instead. Maybe we’ll give them both options and allow the guests to do whatever they’re the most comfortable with.

@yumyums: He’s going to set it up so the guests choose “video” or “photo” from the main screen. I wouldn’t record them without them knowing. I’d hate if someone did that to me!

I think having the option of both would be better!
It honestly sounds like so much fun! I am not sure what the crowd is like, but if there are any drunk messages, it might be a hoot to see them afterwards!
