After much drama, I finally got to see the almost-final product of my dress with sleeves. I loved my dress, but not the strapless aspect of it (I’m just not a strapless dress kinda girl, I’ve never been comfortable in them in general, but all the dresses I liked with sleeves were WAY out of my price range). So before and after: thoughts?

I love the cap sleeves! I’m not a strapless fan either and I’ll be adding sleeves to my dress too. The sleeves look like they were always there! The only thing I might change would be to make them more narrow in the back so they aren’t as wide across your shoulders. So pretty!

Love the sleeves but i agree they should be a bit smaller in the back. You look great !!!

@pinkfrog: I’m not a huge fan of sleeves but this looks absolutely stunning!

I lke the sleeves from the front, but the back the back might need to be taken in a bit.

Sorry, I think it looked way prettier without the sleeves. Maybe if it was tighter on your shoulder instead of flaring out a bit? And I agree with @julies1949:
the back needs some work

Thanks all… Actually, the reason for the flare is that when I lost a lot of weight over the past couple years, the armpit area is where I never managed to lose the bulge- it’s a combination of fat and just having a huge chest on a small frame, and it bulges anytime I wear anything strapless, no matter what I do (including in this dress). It just made me so self-conscious I didn’t want to deal with it on my wedding day. When we tried it slimmer in the back it didn’t hide what I was worried about.
But I love all the different opinions… 🙂

I prefer it without the sleeves, but if you want to keep them, I’d bring them in over the top of your arm instead of letting them wing out and I’d gather them on the back a lot.

Maybe the back would flow better if you closed the V?

I love the sleeves, and I think you can leave them as they are (more of a Dolman look, and if anything they make your waist look tinier!).

I think the sleeves look wonderful! It’s making me want to add them to my dress! I think they look fine in the back. 🙂

I agree with julies1949
. You’re going to look beautiful no matter what.

I think they hang off your shoulder too far, so if you took an inch or two off the outer part they would look better.

This is my dress [= GMTA.
I am sort of jealous that you got all under bustle, I kind of got steam rolled by the lady in alterations and she told me that I had to have an Over bustle for the lace. Maybe I can call and tell them to make it all under bustle? Probably not. It was 35 extra for the over bustle, too!
I’m not adding any sleeves, but they do look very nice. I like your sash too, but I’m stickig with the original because I am wearing pearls (my something borrowed) so it matched.

I agree with mrsSonthebeach, you look prettier without sleeves.
