This is my first post here and I am hoping to get some advice on one of my possibles for the wedding. We have a very small budget because we’re an LDR couple who intends to have two wedding ceremonies & receptions in each country; as well as paying for our visa fees, but that’s another story! I live in Australia and at the moment he lives in the US. I have been looking at possible wedding venues, I really wanted to have it at my parents house, my mother isn’t particularly keen on that though (hoping she’ll change her mind. She thinks it’ll be tacky because of my tight budget and is completely opposed to my use of tressel tables.) Anyway, I have found an affordable venue I like, which I am hoping to go see and ask more question about soon.
The one issue I have with this beautiful old building in my hometown is the location. It’s in the very heart of my small town, it operates as part of a Youth Centre (next door) and from the street, it really underminds the building a lot. Which makes me sad because I feel like it’s otherwise a great venue. I like that it has so much history, but isn’t costly and is somewhat of a blank canvas.
We’ll be married a church, so our wedding photos will be done near there I expect, so I am not fussed that the park isn’t very close by. Plus they have a rear garden or so it says in their information package, so I am hoping to see whether we can use that for cocktail hour as well. That’s if I can’t get my parents to say yes to a backyard wedding.
Any ideas? How could I make it look more inviting from the street for guests?
