Gosh that dress is totally gorgeous as is! I could see sleeves working, but I voted for a bolero so that you can have the versatility of with and without, if that makes sense!

@springwed8:  Personally I think it looks beautiful as it is, but if you really want sleeves I’d maybe go for cap sleeves or a separate lace bolero.  I’d be worried that sleeves might detract from the beautiful details like the belt and neckline.  Could you try on a long sleeved bolero first which would at least give you an idea of what long sleeves would look like on the dress?  It’s stunning btw!

Yes, it could absolutely be done. My dress is similar and has long lace slees and a collar and open in the chest.. hard to explain but I know you’ve seen the style before. I love it as its a very timeless look.

@springwed8:  Lol I’m in Scotland so totally agree that it won’t be hot!  3/4 length sleeves on a bolero can look very flattering – maybe try different sleeve lengths on and see what looks best and what you feel most comfortable with.

It looks beautiful as is but maybe try cap sleeves if you want something added. Long sleeves might take away from the rest of the dress

I wouldn’t touch that dress. It looks amazing. And you body is smoking, so why add sleeves.

I love that dress as it is! I wouldn’t change it at all. if you’re really set on sleeves, try a bolero like this one here: http://lover.ly/image/229806

It’s super simple and pretty, but way more versatile than actually changing your dress! If you don’t want a lace one you can definitely try a fur or a little jacket too.

@springwed8:  The problem with something like that is that there’s no way a seamstress can seemlessly integrate it with the existing dress so you’d have to have it does as a bolero or have the laces not match or sit on top of each other.

I think sometimes we have a hard time letting go of what we think we want in a dress, but you should try to judge each dress on its own merits as it is instead of trying to make it fit what you set out to look for. If you want sleeves that bad, find a different dress. Or, just accept that you love this dress and that maybe you should rethink the sleeves issue.
