So… I am seriously thinking about having sleeves added to my dress but i’m having a hard time envisioning what they might look like.
At the moment I am caught between a few different styles (Here comes about a million pictures):
:

So as you can see my ideas are all over the place! I’ve posted my dress below (pre alterations) and would love your advice and thoughts on me adding a sleeve or strap, or what might look best. OR even if you think I should leave it and why!

Also, I would LOVE to see your sleeve alterations to strapless dresses too, so I can get an idea if I want to do this or not!
Thanks!

Proinceas: I added fluttery lace sleeves to my strapless dress, as I’ve always been uncomfortable showing my upper arms. The shop ordered in some of the same lace appliques at the bottom of my dress for the sleeves. Photos incoming!

For your dress I would suggest doing something like the sleeves in your photo 3, but made of some lace that matches the lace at the bottom of your dress. You look absolutely stunning, by the way!!

Proinceas: David’s Bridal sells jackets and covarge options for wedding dresses…I would try some on with the dress to get a better idea.
Your dress is beautiful…I don’t think you need to add straps. I think long sleeves might take away from the drama on the bottom.

I LOVE the long sleeve lace, illusion neckline of the B&W picture. I also like lace cap sleeves.

ApocalypseCow: Aw thank you! Well, I am having a Catholic Church wedding and then a pretty traditional sit down meal at a beautiful old hotel. My hair will be half up and half down with a kind of braided style in the top bit ๐

MrsRevolutionize: Uh I love your dress!! It is pretty much what I wanted when I went dress shopping but then I got swayed by the mermaid even though I never thought I wanted one… But I am so happy to see your sleeves dont look out of place, which is my main worry. I will look into using the same lace of my dress too if I do go ahead with alterations. Thanks for commenting!

amstudent1: That’s what others have said too. I do love the drama at the bottom, but dont know how comfortable I feel with the strapless. Will try on some boleros! But I wont have my dress until right before my wedding which makes it difficult… but will try some on anyway ๐

I would steer clear of the longer lace sleeve. Stick with one of the cap sleeve options if you decide to do it.

JuliaLaneFitness: Yeah they are beautiful, and add something a bit different without making the dress too old for me, or frumpy… ๐

Proinceas: you could also consider boleros similar to these hayley paige ones. It’s convenient because they’re completely detachable!
