If I decide to add straps, I’m getting them added with snaps to attach them to the dress. That way I can wear it with or without. If I decide I don’t like it with, I’m just out the $$ of the alteration.

Sleeves are most likely a pretty cheap alteration to add. They are just sewing them on. Perhaps the store where you bought your gown has straps hat you can clip/pin to your dress to see what it would look like before you commit?

I think cap sleeves would look beautiful with your dress.

I personally love staps and cap sleeves. I just found my dress and it was strapless but I was able to add straps!! It wasnt that expensive either.

I personally think it’s very hard to add sleeves to a strapless dress without it looking obvious, unless it’s done very well. Like PP said, maybe a lace jacket/bolero would do the trick.

This is exactly what happened to me! I bought my dress and then was regretting not going to more places and waiting longer to buy it. I still love it though and just found some beaded trim to add straps to mine. If I had gotten a lace dress I would’ve gone with the cap sleeves like you were showing!

Here’s the trim I got to go with my dress.

I just got it on Tuesday so I haven’t had them attached yet but I think I’ll be more comfortable with them. I got it from the fashion district in LA.
