I’m starting to think about save-the-dates and I was wondering how you handle extended family SOs. No one in FIs extended family are living together yet but quite a few of them are either engaged or in long term relationships. Of course their SOs will be invited – but my Fiance doesn’t want to send out separate stds and invites to their SOs, he wants to include them on his cousin’s invites. When I asked him why he said that his family just doesn’t do it like that.
Indeed, for a save the date sent to my Fiance by his cousin, it was just addressed to my Fiance and not me. So proof that this is indeed the way that they do it.
For invites, since we are doing an inner and outer envelope I could just address the outer to his cousin and on the inner envelope include both names. However, there will only be one evelope on the stds and I want to include the name of his cousin’s SOs because I’m afraid that if we don’t, they will assume that only they are invited.
Should I just address it to FIs cousin and hope they understand their SO will also be invited or should I add their SO’s name even though they don’t actually live there?
