I am at the point where I have to start compiling the names to be listed on the invitations and I’m confused about the inner envelope. I understand the outer envelope should be addressed with titles and first names, in addition to the last name. Ex. Mr. & Mrs. John Smith. Everything I can find online is talking about proper etiquette with the inner envelope and it says I should write the formal title with last name. Ex. Mr. & Mrs. Smith.
I am more of a non-traditional bride, and so I would prefer to have the inner envelope state John & Mary instead of Mr. & Mrs. Smith but I’m afraid I will offend the traditionalists.
What should I do??
