We have pocketfold invitations and after talking to my wedding ettiqute sisters, we decided to omit writing anything in the pocket fold invitation.  Too much work, doing it would be awkwared (where do you write?! lol) and it apparently isn’t completely necessary.

@BetterSherm:  On the outer envelope.  The pocketfold went inside a larger envelope, and everything was addressed on that one 🙂

@BetterSherm:  That’s…..odd!  I don’t know the answer then!  Ours had the pocket fold which holds the invitation and other enclosures, which then goes in our larger outer envelope — I’d be worried about the pocketfold getting damaged in the mail without it 🙁

we had a pocketfold/jacket type invite.  the diy kit came with only 1 envelope for the mailing address/stamp.

it also came with nice bordered labels for the front of the jacket where we could write in the names of the invited.  i guess if you have a belly band, this would not be feasible for you.

@randomequine:  I agree!

With our pocket folds we have not inner envelope, just an outer for the addresses.  Usually the inner envelope containes the names of the invitees formally.  (for the outer we would just put John & Jane & Family, or John smith and included John & Guest in the inner) I decided to put the names on the belly band.  Here’s a pic of mine:

@auggiefrog:  Those are so cute!!!  We bought out invites as a ‘kit’ and the belly bands didn’t (IMO) look good with the pocketfold, so we left them off entirely!  But yours are so adorable!!!!!
