(Closed) addressing to a lesbian married couple?

I think the first one is more appropriate

For my Uncle and his partner we did

Mr. John Doe and Mr. Jack Deer

oh i didnt see that they have almost the same last name…but I still think the first is more appropriate

it should be either “Mrs. Beth John and Mrs. Beth John-Adams” or “Ms. Beth John and Ms. Beth John-Adams” depending on if the John is the mutual/shared name, I think

the first one! make sure you put both names on the same line

The first because when a name is hyphenated, it’s not tecnically the same last name. All on the same line.

@Nola: List both their names in alphabetical order.  I believe its the same etiquette for addressing envelopes for couples living together.  I would think you can also use either Ms. or Mrs. depending on the formality of your invitations or if you already know their preference.

I had to log on for this one.  My cousin is a married lesbian and when i was sending out my invites i just called them and asked how they want to be address.  Seeing that Emly Post has nothing on this.  I addressed the way the told me to Mrs jane and mrs emily smith.

Yea….I would just ask the couple how they would like to be addressed.
