A few days ago these adverts started hijacking my browser when I’m on Weddingbee on my iPad. There is NO way to turn them off or click out of them, they’re the entire window & the only way to get back to the Bee is to close out the window or press the back button — which is super fucking annoying and only works for a few seconds before it happens again!
Has anyone else been suffering this? What can I do??? At this rate I’ll have to stop using the Bee entirely. I mean this website has been shit & buggy since the redesign, I know, but I love the content and all the Bees themselves so I’d be very sad to be booted out by dumb adds.
It only ever happens on Weddingbee, no other sites have this problem. Also I’m always browsing on my iPad, at first I thought it was a bug with Safari so I switched to Chrome, which helped for about a day, and now the adverts are attacking me again!
Here’s a screenshot of what they look like. Anyone else seen this?

Definitely agree. I can only use the site when I’m on my phone, and even then, it’s slow. It totally makes my laptop freeze.

Yes, it’s so annoying. When I click on some threads it just redirects to those ads.

Oh dear. Well I wouldn’t mind slow, if I could actually stay on the Bee! I was careful to see exactly what happens when the adds show up, and they come when I’ve done NOTHING. My fingers aren’t even touching the iPad, I’ll be merrily reading somebody’s post, and all of the sudden BAM I’m being transferred to a shitty add page. Then I go back to the Bee and it happens again, straight away, literally within seconds. 🙁
I’m currently using Chrome Incognito with some success, but it’s probably only a matter of time til the adds get in here too. This blows.

I’m getting it on my iPad, too. HATE it.

It’s a problem with Google Ads – they’re having the same problem on Hellobee.

If you have chrome, install AdBlock and they’re gone forever. I’ve legit never seen an ad on this site since I joined.

So glad I’m not alone!!
Oh my gosh I’m so glad to hear that! I was worried that this was the final death spiral of Weddingbee, which seems to have gained an ever shittier user interface over the years. Fingers crossed good ol’ Google will sort it out soon.
Ooo good idea! I have that on my desktop but never thought about installing it on my iPad. Going to see if that’s possible…

have you tried an ad blocker app? I have ad blocker plus (free) and it blocks the ads. It’s great!
edited to add, saw SoonToBeMrsT16: posted same. Agree. I get zero ads!

No I haven’t, thank you! I’ll check that out. It never really occurred to me to find an ad blocker for my iPad…I don’t usually mind ads, sometimes I buy things they suggest haha, and I feel a little guilty when I know they make the Internet content I love possible — but if I can’t even use a site because of them, I guess ad blocker it is.

I’m using private browsing on safari on my ipad to avoid them.
I’m not sure adblocker would would in this case since it’s a redirect to a new page.

I have this on my iPhone and it’s so annoying! Anyone know how to make it stop on a phone??
I use mercury browser and have so far been okay with the no redirect and it has ad block installed already

how do you use private browsing on the iPad?
it is very annoying I agree. I don’t know about you but doing this definitely does not make me want to use the products/services they are offering…whoever made this as a way to get people is crazy!
