Hi everyone! I am planning a very small wedding (less than 20 people!) in the Adirondacks. So far I am looking at Cranberry Lake, Lake George, or Lake Placid. I’m open to suggestions as to venues – outdoors, with lake or mountain views, the cheaper the better. 🙂
What I’m really having trouble with, though, is finding an officiant. Does anyone have any suggestions or recommendations for a secular, non-Denominational officiant that will work in the area? Can anyone give me an estimate as to cost? I’m flying blind with this part.

I grew up in Lake Placid and I am getting married there in less than a month! We rented a house on Lake Placid, Camp Humdinger Hill. For us this was a good option because we are having the wedding party stay at the house as well so this cut down on the cost of the venue. There are many houses to rent in Lake Placid on the lake. We are having the rehearsal dinner and the reception at the house. We have a larger wedding of 150people, so we had to rent a tent. But for the rehearsal dinner we plan on setting a table on the front porch that goes the entire length of the front of the house. This would be perfect for a wedding of your size.
I would check out this website: http://www.findrentals.com/ and search for Lake Placid, NY.
