- Wedding: July 2009
My honey and I decided to do a "cabin in the woods" honeymoon after our July 25 wedding next year. I lost my job and he started grad school, so our dreams of a cruise went flitting away (to be saved until we’re feeling flush again).
A friend is getting married two weeks after us in New York City, so we were thinking that we’d look into renting a little cabin in the Adirondaks. However! Neither of us has ever been, so I have some questions and I’m hoping some of you who have been there can give me insight:
1. Where should we stay? It seems like there are so many different little towns and villages!
2. Is it super crowded there in the summer? Will we be bowled over by tourists?
3. What’s the weather like? Is it humid, muggy, cool, perfect (please say perfect!)?
4. Is a car required?
Any thoughts you have will be much appreciated. Also, are there other East Coast spots that would be good for a "cabin in the woods" style honeymoon? Our Plan B is to go somewhere in Washington State, where our wedding is…but we thought it might be nice to see a different part of the country.
Whew, that’s a long post! Thanks in advance!
