I was scoping out Michaels website looking for ceramic gourds (P.S. they don’t sell them) when I stumped upon this…

A DIY rocking horse! I totally love it and I think I want to make it for our friends little girl who is turning 1 in October. I don’t know if 1 is too little for a rocking horse (I’d assume) but I figure its something that she’ll eventually be able to use.
Michaels posted a whole tutorial so I figure I’ll coordinate the colors with her nursery and try to make something really funky. My friend is into the whole homemade Etsy thing so I think this is right up her alley.
So, moms, would you like this gift for your kid?

Very cute! I don’t think she’d be able to use it yet, but it’ll be pretty decoration until she grows into it!

@artbee: That’s what I figured. At the very least it will look cute in her room.

Totally not my style and personally I wouldn’t know where to put it…that being said, if the kid or parents are into that stuff it would probably go over well. I’m just not a huge fan of overly patterned items that aren’t matching anything.

I think it is super cute and would look great – especially if you coordinate it with the nursery!

@Mrs.KMM: agree
I totally love homemade stuff. Especially if you took the effort to coordinate it with her nursery!

Thanks guys! My friend made just about everything in her daughters nursery including this adorable mobile that she made out of coordinating scrap book paper. I’m hoping to be able to find the same paper (or something similiar) and use that for the rocking horse.
