I’m new to the world of photobooks and flush mount. We’re looking at adoramapix for our parents albums, because they offer layflat pages at a great price, and it *looks* as though the images are printed on photo paper.
Here’s what the website says:
“All pages are printed on real photographic silver-halide paper with a lustre finish, bright saturated colors and excellent flesh tones. You just can’t get all this in press print books. All our photo books use real archival quality photo paper for vivid fade-resistant colors and brilliant whites you just can′t get in press print books.”
So, from my understanding, this option falls somewhere on a scale between a press-print photobook and a flush mount album (The pages on the adorama books are very thick, but they are not mounted to a board).
Has anyone had experience with adoramapix?

@april13th: I don’t like adorama pix, but they do use real photo paper. Check outBlack River Imaging. AWESOME service, beautiful prints. Also, Finao just came out with a new book called the Playbook, a smaller “album” style book printed on real photo paper. Also, before you send anything to print, it might help to make sure the images are ready for print. I use Pro Photo Edits to handle the high end editing.
again, personaized service and outstanding product!

@april13th: I made our wedding album using Adoramapix. It is printed on photo paper. I found the site user friendly and I’m happy with the product we received for the price. I’d have loved to go with a more substantial wedding album like through Somerset (http://www.somersetalbums.com/index.asp), but I didn’t have the money. I may still someday make a nicer album, but I’m happy with Adoramapix.
Keep an eye out, because Adoramapix does run promotions for 20-30% off of albums.
