I put “adult reception to follow” but I don’t see how 8 y/o is an adult?

Please let me just leave this earth now if all 8 years old are conisered adults Tongue Out

I think since some kids are actually coming I would not put anything because it would cause confusion and just address the invites to who is invited and prefill in the number of seats.

2 seats have been reserved

I agree with PP.

Put 2 seats have been reserved then if you really want to make sure it gets through put adult reception to follow.

Althought I think 8 is young….do you mean 18?

@pinkcrush:  I could be wrong, but I remember reading in Emily Post’s book that it’s not acceptable to put “adults only” or “no children” on invitations. I think it would be fine to clarify on a Save the Date or wedding website, though.

Also, I agree with PP that it may cause confusion if children ages 8 and up are allowed.

It is impolite to point out on an invitation who is NOT invited to the event.  Just be very explicit about the # of seats reserved for people, and the names on the invitation.

When there was a couple I wanted to invite but didn’t want their children I addressed the envelope to the adults as MrsWBS recomended, I also had inner envelopes with the first names of the adults, and then on the RSVP cards I put something along the lines of “We have reserved 2 seats in your honor…” that way there was no mistake of who was invited and it worked perfectly for me.
