I added a frequently asked questions page to my wedding website for this exact reason and fortunately I had a lot of other information to add about parking and accessibility too so it wasn’t just the thing about kids. Since we have a lot of friends and cousins with infants, we decided to include them since they don’t take up meals and seats.

Here’s what I wrote. Hopefully it helps.

4. My children are not included on the invitation. Can I bring them?

Unfortunately, no; only the people whose names are on the invitation are invited to the wedding. We both have very big families and space is limited so we had to restrict our guest list to adults only.

 5. I have a breastfeeding infant. Can I bring him or her?

Yes you can. Breastfeeding infants need to stay with their mothers, and don’t take up the space that older children do. We only ask that if your infant starts to cry during the festivities, please remove him or her so that people can still hear what’s going on.

Under the Ceremony and Reception tab I put:

An adult only ceremony and An adult only reception.

I also covered this in my “Frequently Asked Questions” link on my website:

  • Are children invited?

Due to space constraints and the tone of the event, we will be having an adults-only reception. Only children included in the wedding party will be included at the reception. We apologize if this inconveniences any of our guests.

We aren’t having guests join us for our ceremony since we’re getting married in Vegas, but our reception is adults only so I put Adult Reception for the page title and then *Adults only please* in the section.
