@deeann:  i think it looks amazing!!! Even though they stuffed up and didn’t do what you wanted. So you can either fight for what you wanted originally or keep it. But to be honest, it makes the stone pop and it puts the focus on the stone. When the band is thicker, it made my eye look at the band not the stone.

I would ask them to fix it. That is quite a thin band for that stone. I would be concerned it did not offer enough support, and also annoyed that you paid for x amount of gold in the setting and got less.

I think it looks great and like it better thinner and I think the stone looks beautiful BUT when I chose my ring I insisted on it being very thin and if it came in a little thicker than I expected it would bother me. Do keep in mind the band under it too though, maybe try on bands before returning and see if that helps? Over all though if you love it even a tiny bit less because it is thinner then you should exchange. It is abeautiful ring and you should get exactly what you want!

Go with whichever one YOU prefer. Durability is very important.

I suspect that thicker bands can be slimmed down if necessary but thinner bands cannot be “fattened up”. Check with your jeweller to see which option is more flexible in the future if you change your mind.

I echo other people’s advice about trying on your engagement ring with a wedding band in order to make a final decision.

I prefer the look of the thinner band, but echo PPs in that you need to make sure it is durable if you stick with it (NB: slimmer doesn’t necessarily mean less durable, I have a narrow band, but it’s deep, and so still strong; but if yours is narrow AND shallow that could be an issue).

Also, it’s what you personally prefer, as others have said: it’s irrelevant if 90% of people on here prefer the narrower band if you don’t; you’re the one wearing the ring after all!
