TinaNYC55:  Not to diminish what you are feeling because Im not in your shoes but this sounds like the everyday motions of being in a small space with different personalities. All you can do really is come to work, keep your head down, do what you have to do and leave. If this isnt working for you, maybe you’ve reached your ceiling in this job and its time for you to look for another. But truth be told, what you have described here doesnt sound so bad. I have people pass me in the hall way I say hello only to have then look me dead in my eye and not respond… Now I dont speak when I walk past these people… I have had people call me a secretary because of their personal biases, i’m a lawyer and have been with this company for about a year, so its not like I’m new but i digress…

I guess what Im saying is, you cant really change how people treat you. you can ignore it, or you can move on.

That does sound toxic and dysfunctional. If you can’t see things changing by talking to her or the owner, than I would start looking elsewhere. Life is too short to spend 40+ hours a week if something can be done to improve your situation. I know that’s easier said than done for many unfortunately 🙁

TinaNYC55:  If a job is bad enough you need to take anti-depressants to deal with it then it’s time to apply for new jobs and leave.  Or quit if you can afford to be unemployed for a period of time.
