I need help with accessorizing my dress! I’ve been altering it from spaghetti straps to a halter style and now I’m ready to figure out a way to jazz it up just a little more.
This is my dress (mid-alterations), it’s ivory with a beaded champagne floral overlay and the train will be permanantly bustled. The waist/hips are going to be brought in later, you can see the weird fit right now.
I’m very short (5’1″) and I’ve been considering maybe adding a champagne sash to help accentuate my waist – what do you think of these options? I’m really not great at choosing accessories for myself, any input is helpful and welcome 😊
#1 (I think this one is so lovely)
Yes sash? No sash? Other possible alternative?
Thank you, bees!

emmmmru: Your dress has so much floral beading already, I don’t think adding more flowers is the answer, so for me that’s a no on #1 and #3 (the center reminds me of a flower and I don’t really think it goes stylistically). #2 is more classic but still not what you see everywhere, reminds me of leaves, and is super sparkly, and I think it would be perfect with your dress.
But you seem to love #1 so if that’s your favorite then go for it 🙂

unicornphish: thank you, that was very helpful of you! I can’t decide still but I had the “too much floral” thought as well and the leaf-like look of the thin belt is actually a very cute idea. Thanks a bunch 😊

I really love how you made the dress a halter top, it’s so flattering! In terms of jazzing the dress up I don’t think you need a sash or belt. Your dress is so gorgeous and delicate that I think a belt would take away from its impact. Maybe focus on accessorizing with jewelry and a snazzy hairpiece?

I agree that you don’t need a sash or belt as the dress itself has so much detail I think it would look too much…. great job are you altering yourself! ? If so I’m well impressed! Xx
