I have been a lurker here for my entire engagement and have found the boards so helpful that there was never a question I had that wasn’t already answered… until now!
We need to give the venue coordinator and band a timeline of food/music for our upcoming wedding (it’s this Saturday- eeee!). I came up with the following draft, but I was hoping that you could take a look at it and let me know about any problems or issues that I may be overlooking.
The reception will be outside in a tent (right now the weather forecast it beautiful- fingers crossed that it holds up!), so it will be light outside until about 8pm. I’m slightly worried about the dance set that’s scheduled while it’s still light out- do people like to boogie when it’s still daylight?
Alright, here is what i have so far:
5:30pm-6:30 pm cocktail hour
6:30 pm- reception begins
6:40pm Announcements: bridal party, parents of groom, parents of bride, bride and groom
6:45 pm- First dance
6:50 pm- party song that gets everyone up and dancing (suggestions?)
6:50-7:05 pm dance set
7:05 pm Welcome from father of the bride, salad course
7:20-8:00 pm dance set
8:00 pm Toast from wedding party, dinner service
8:30 Mother/Son, Father Daughter Dance
8:35 pm dance set
9:30 pm cake cutting
9:35 dance set
10:40pm last dance of the night
Thoughts, tips, expertise would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks so much!!!
