Finally, I decided on a colour scheme for our July 2015 wedding – champagne, gold and purple/pink.
My bridesmaid dress has been decided on for a while now (Dessy 2882). My bridesmaids have all tried it on, so once we decide on a colour, we will can order.
I have pretty much narrowed the colour down to Orchid and Dahlia. Has anyone had these colours/ seen them in person? I’ve searched on google and haven’t found very many pictures!
Here’s the wedding inspiration picture I created when I was looking for a decor/floral vendor and a picture of the colour swatches I ordered (the picture doesn’t do the colours justice, but at least it’s something).
Anyways, what colour do you think will look best? Or do neither? Thanks!!

I like Dahlia – I think it will be a perfect rich, vibrant color that will go really well with a summer wedding! That dress would be beautiful with lavender roses and cream flowers.

I likw Dahlia, it really stands out. I will also be using purple for my wedding.

We had the Dahlia, although it was in the dupioni silk, but it was a beautiful rich colour:

I like the orchid. I think it goes with the other colors better. (And I’ve been a purple nut all my life).

Orchid goes better with all the other stuff you’re going with, but man Dahlia really stands out and looks awesome. Good luck!

I think the dahlia is quite a statement color, it’s very beautiful. The orchid is a pretty color. Do you want that beautiful wow factor or a harmonious blending? which I’m sure is why you are asking us!
My vote is for Dahlia!

Thanks everyone! It’s so hard :S I like how the Orchid is a bit softer and seems like it will match the pops of light purple i’m looking for in the flower and the decor. I’ve also never seen orchid before in a wedding so i think its a bit more unique?
One of my BMs said she thinks dahlia is a bit more elegant/classy, which I guess is true. Also the colour will pop a bit more, and i guess you don’t want the dresses MATCHING the decor, so it might be better to not even try, the orchid might look like i’m trying to match other elements, and then if its off it might look clashy?
I have 5 bridesmaids by the way, not sure if that makes a difference. so 5 girls in orchid would be a little less extreme than dahlia.

thanks for the picture! you look beautiful! it’s funny how the dahlia photographs much more blue in both your picture and mine. i’m looking at the swatch right now, and it looks a lot warmer, i actually prefer how it looks in photographs, which i guess is a good thing because the photos are what i’ll be looking at afterwards!

Ok I was a bridesmaid in a Dessy Orchid chiffon dress and it was BRIGHT. I like Dahlia much better. Orchid photographed better than it looked in person, but in person it was very very bright, and not everyone’s cup of tea.

that is very good to know!!

i feel like Orchid goes better with your color theme, especially your inspriation picture.

What did you end up doing? We are doing 2882 in Venetian Gold – my colors are champagne and gold (no purple).
Any pics to share? 🙂
