@BellaDee:  You indicate that your mom is helping pay for the gown – I’d be afraid of hurting my mom if I had her pay for it, and then went out and bought another one. I know she would be VERY upset – she is absorbing the cost to save YOU some money.

I’m sorry that you regret your purchase, but I think you need a bit of a reality check. I am not trying to be rude at all, but I guess in general I feel like people spend too much on weddings, period. It is a dress you will be wearing for one day. A wedding is about being joined with the one you love. No one is going to remember what dress you wore – they will remember you looking happy and gorgeous in whatever dress you walk down the aisle in.

If it was your money, I’d say go ahead if it is this important to you, but the fact it is your mom’s $$ complicates things. I hope you’re at least able to recoup some of the costs if you do decide to get another dress.

Oh and for the record, I looked up your previous post and I honestly think the dress looks lovely on you.

I had dress regret too, more like dress indecision.  I have three dresses, but they were all very affordable.  I still don’t know which one I’m wearing.  I have an appointment with a seamstress today!

I think that there’s more than one dress that will do the job for your wedding.  It’s not like one magical dress that’s the end all be all.  Several will actually work!  I look at it in a practical way.

Back about 100 years ago, no one worried if they cried or got butterflies when they tried their wedding gown on!  They just wore their Sunday best for their own wedding.  Try to view it as a 21st century, 1st world country problem, and then it doesn’t see so bad.  But that’s just me.

@BellaDee:  It’s only a 4 hour drive! and I’m sure my boss would understand. “You see, Attorney XX, I really need the day off because I need to drive to NYC and negotiate a wedding dress transaction for a girl I know through a wedding website!”

I love your dress!  I know you are opposed to crinoline, but likely the martina liana has crinoline under it as well.  It’s really hard to get a dress that doesn’t have it.  Trust me, I bought 3 dresses, so I know what dress regret feels like.  Even after I bought my final dress, I kept looking at other dresses and I finally had to stop and say to myself, REMEMBER HOW YOU FELT?!   Are there going to be pics of other dresses that you like more, maybe? But remember how beautiful you felt in it.  I’m so sorry you’re going through this, it sucks, I know.

@BellaDee:  I am a law student at my second year summer internship.

Play the tears card. Don’t hold back. Make a scene. No shame. That’s my legal opinion!
