I showed at 8 weeks and I was a US size 2-4 when I got pregnant. If you would be bothered by “showing” in your gown I wouldn’t TTC before May or June.

@LunaFleurLavender:  With my first, I didn’t look noticeably pregnant until almost five months. That’s when I really got a bump. So unless you guys are super lucky and get it on your first try but get pregnant a little later I think you should be fine 🙂

Everyone (and every pregnancy) is different so there really is no point in basing your decision on others. I had people in shock when they were finding out that I was pregnant when I was 8 1/2 months along…and I’m 5’11” and was about 135 pounds at the time. I just carried my babies in towards my back.

    @Luayne:

    i agree.

my mom was a thin woman,so you couldnt tell she was pregnant with my brother and i untill she was a couple months ready to give birth,if that.

it really depends on the womans body type and were she holds the weight most

I agree with others, height makes a big difference.  I have a long torso, and am a size 5/6.  I didn’t start showing until about 5 months with my first pregnancy.  Every person is different, so if you don’t want people to know right away… I would wait to start trying until at least March.  You’d be surprised how many people get pregnant right away!

Also, I used to alter wedding gowns, so I have a bit of advice.  If you are pregnant, tell your seamstress and wait until 2-3 weeks before the wedding to get fitted.  You may have to pay more, but it is going to have to be adjusted over and over anyway if you try to do it sooner.  You get “pregnant” in your hips and bust first.  My bust was 3 sizes bigger during pregnancy.  So, even if you aren’t showing in your stomach, your hips are going to get wider and your bust is going to get bigger… right away!

Good luck with your wedding and pregnancy!  So exciting.

I voted 3-4 months before reading the full post, sorry.

I started to slightly show around 3-4 months, it wasn’t until 7 months that I just couldn’t hide it any more

I didn’t start wearing maternity jeans until I was over 6 months. Our obgyn kept saying “where are you hiding the baby?!”. My son was on the smaller side- about 6lbs 14 ozs, so maybe that’s why I didn’t really show? I think my derss size at that time was about a 4/6.

It depends on what you mean by “showing”. I bloat rather easily so I was “showing” all the bloat/fluid retention by about 6-7 weeks. I had to transition to maternity jeans by about 8-9 weeks and used the rubber band trick + belly band prior to that to keep my normal pants on. However, I am petite (5’2″) and wore a US size 4 when I got PG. After I started showing the bloat, my waistband had to expand only about 1″ or 1.5″. I just switched to maternity jeans because the zippers hurt when I wore my regular ones partially zipped. Now I’m at 18 weeks and there’s a definitely a small bump that is noticeable but is still an “Is she or isn’t she?” type bump. I haven’t gained anywhere else but the belly area.

That said, my friend who’s around the same height and size said she was able to hide her PG until 6 months. So as PP mentioned, everyone is different.

I agree with PP, each pregnancy is different.

I didn’t really have a noticable bump until around 6-7 months. I’m 5ft 5in and around 115lbs when I got pregnant. I carried “well” and small, when Dirty Delete was born @ 40 weeks, my stomach only measure 35 and she was 7lbs 8oz so I was pretty tiny for being 9months pregnant!

I started showing around 15 weeks but I was up 3 cup sizes by 8 weeks.  That really surprised me!

@Luayne:  Me too!  I have a similar height and build, and I didn’t really look pergnant until 8-9 months.

I also have an extreme hourglass- so baby just kind of sits in there, and fills up the space other bodies might already have, if that makes sense?

I was 17 weeks at my wedding. While I had a teeny pooch, it was my rack that was out of control.

The top of my dress needed to be let out a little to accomodate my chest, and I was still busting out.

You could barely tell in the stomach that I was pregnant, but let me show you a picture now of what happened at 19w

    Helllloooo pooch.

    Good luck!!!

I agree with others that every pregnancy is totally different and I’ve seen that in person with other people.  I am only 5 weeks pregnant but this is what I get after I eat and especially at night…baby bloat!  It’s pretty ridiculous.  I am between a size 0 and a size 2 though so I have a feeling I might show early.
