Hi all! This is my first post here.. so I hope I’m doing everything right!
My partner and I have decided to get engaged, after been together for nearly 6 years.. yayyyy.. the problem is that I’m still having issues when it comes to finding the perfect engagement ring (we are getting engaged during the holidays! So not much time left!!)
I’ll give you some background; Ed is Irish.. but I’m from Argentina.. and we don’t do ‘engagement rings’ in my culture.. well at least not as you know them! No diamonds or gemstones for us, perhaps the most ‘blingy’ couples would exchange plain silver bands (similar to the yellow gold wedding band), but it is not a necessity by any means. So as you could imagine, when we started talking about it.. I was like.. ‘Oh.. diamonds.. okkk (????)’
After doing a lotttt of research in the matter (my friends had a pretty good idea about this whole thing!), I’ve finally decided the style I want! Vintage/antique 3 stone ring with halo, sapphire (vivid blue) as the center stone.. and diamonds as side stones. We are choosing platinum for the band.
So far so good.. except that since I live in New Zealand (although I’m shifting to Sydney, Aus today, where Ed is working atm; yes, we fly a looooot! It’s very confusing.. haha), prices over here are suuuper hefty, and not much variety.. So I’ve decided to buy the ring online.. Risky, I know, but I’m up for it.
I’ve checked an amazing design by Rita Fusaro.. absolutely gorgeous! But totally unattainable in terms of budget.. (was ~ 25kusd.. and my budget is 10k aud = 8.5/9kusd). I was bummed, since that was my ‘dream e-ring’.. anyway, I continued researching.. and found this gorgeous ring:
It’s from Ritani.. from their Masterworks collection. I’ve read heaps of reviews.. and seems to be of very good quality. It can fit a 7mm sapphire (~1.5-1.7ct), and the halo brings the size up to 10mm. I want to have some good finger coverage (I’m a 6.5), what do you guys think about it? Would it look ok in terms of size? Too small/large? It’s soo hard not being able to try it! Hope you experienced bees can shed some light on this situation..
Thanks a lot!!
