Do your best to be open minded. Women make wedding dress shopping such a big deal and it usually is never that amazing beautiful wonderful experience that we see on TV. If you don’t fall in love with a dress don’t be upset, you will find the perfect dress at some point. Also, I think it’s really smart to go feeling good about yourself. If that means wearing makeup and having your hair pretty then do it. I felt a lot better trying on dress when I felt pretty. Good luck!!

Wear spanxs. Have or wear a strapless bra. Wear underwear that you don’t mind people seeing you in as the consultant will be helping you into and out of the dresses.

@iadornyou:  Don’t get upset if you don’t have an “OhmygodthisisTHEDRESS”moment on the first shot, take a bridal consultants advice and at least try a dress on, even if it’s not exactly what you were looking for or a complete departure from your idea altogether, you might just love it, don’t let anyone make you feel pressured into committing to a dress before you are ready and remember that the whole, “The price goes up after this weekend” schtick, is so old my grandpa used to use it….other than that, have fun!

Try on various styles and silhouettes — you may be surprised at the outcome. Go with an open mind and take your time… really savor the moment because (hopefully) you’ll only have one wedding! This is supposed to be a super cool experience so have fun and relax. Good luck to you. 🙂

The best advice I got was “try on outliers” – iow, dresses you might think you would never wear. I ended up buying an outlier.
