I recently tried on and fell in love with Alfred Angelo 2034. I was just wondering if you brides out there with the same dress could tell me what size you got and what your measurements are.
Mine are 32-24.5-36 and the bridal store wanted to order me a 4. My measurements put me at a 2 for bust/waist and a 4 for hips. I’m a poor graduate student on a tight budget, so I’m hoping the corset back will allow me to avoid getting alterations, but I still want the top to be small enough to allow the lacing to show. I was looking online for a used dress in my size but realized that a few of the 4s had their hip measurements at 37-38 and there were others who received the dress in their size too baggy at the hip; basically, what I’m getting at is that I’m wondering if I can get away with a size 2 even though my hips put me at a 4, or, if I will be fine on the top half with the 4. Please share your experiences, if you will!! 🙂
And now for pics, because it’s fun and I am excited! Thanks for looking!

That wasn’t my dress, but I just wanted to tell you that you look GORGEOUS!

I just PM-ed you some info.
I’m almost exactly a size 4 (1/2 inch off on my hips) and I tried on a sample size 6 and 2. The 6 was too loose all around even with the corset tightened all the way. The 2 fit ok, but I wanted a bit more wiggle room in the thigh area. I ordered a 4 and when it arrived, it didn’t fit me the way I expected it to (too tight at the top, perfect on the waist, and too loose on my narrow hips).
Also, keep in mind that just about any sample you try on has been stretched out a bit. A brand new dress will fit more snugly than the sample.

I can’t comment on that particular dress, but I am a UK 6 – 8 and they ordered me a size 10, and it’s a perfect fit, apparently wedding dress sizes are slightly different, particularly from one designer to another. The Sample dress had some room in it, my actual dress has no room, as it hasn’t been tried on a million times

@Miss Mauverick: Thank you so much for all of the information. I’m guessing (based on your comments and the Alfred Angelo size chart) that your measurements are 34-25-36.5? And I went ahead and PM-ed you back. 🙂
@applecore: Thanks for the info. I know bridal usually runs smaller that normal American vanity sizing, but it seems that Alfred Angelo isn’t too far off. I’m normally a street size 0-2 and in AA I seem to be in between 2-4 (damn hips!) 😉
