hillputaringonit :  I was seriously impressed! I love, love, love good bbq, but don’t often seek it out because I find it can be hit or miss. My biggest issue is that I (and same for DH) don’t like fatty cuts of meat, and most Texans just view it as a prized possession. That’s actually the main reason I don’t like Houston’s famous bbq place – Killens. Their turkey and sides were really good but the brisket was disgustingly fatty.

But Hard 8 – sure there was some fatty pieces, but I mostly got non-fatty and it was delicious. Darling Husband even tried the ribs and said that they even weren’t fatty and were really good. Was disappointed in the lack of veggie sides but they had Oreo mud pie that was sooooo good! Will most definitely go back 😊. Do you have Rudy’s up there? Their normal stuff wasn’t especially memorable to me but they do brisket breakfast tacos that are TDF.

Mother argument to move to Texas: breakfast tacos.

libellules :  i die for the jalapeño cream corn 😭 i looked hard at the Oreo mud pie but resisted.  My husband got the apple cobbler and holy shit it was so good.

We have Rudy’s and I used to love stopping when the only one close was in Waco and we would stop on the way SB 35.  It’s just ok to me now.  I haven’t been to one in so long.
