I need help/opinions for my upcoming damask wedding…..
Hopefully I have uploaded the link properly to the two different damask patterns I am between. One is a traditions damask and one is titled Paris damask by the etsy seller I am going through. Which one does everyone like more. I will be looking to sell these after my September wedding….
The other opinion that is needed, is my chair covers are white with a black sash and the tablecloths are a black. I originally wanted to use the damask as a square overlay on top of the black tablecloth but now I have seen a lot of weddings where they are using them as table runners. What is everyones preference.
PS> I have silver chargers for the top of the tables too.
Thanks everyone so much.

Personally, I like the one on the left. The design looks "lighter" to me, and not so much like formal drapes. The one on the right looks very heavy and not very "wedding-y". Just my thoughts.

I am also having a damask themed wedding. I am using the Traditions pattern which is the on left. I liked it because it had more white space than a lot of the other patterns. Also it had a larger pattern.

I prefer the one on the left. As caliocteach said, it looks lighter and less like drapes! As for whether you should do squares or runners, I vote runners.

I think the one on the left will look great on black tablecloths… how many tables are you doing? Would you consider selling after your wedding? I’m getting married in Chicago in July 2010 and am considering something similiar (with runners). Good luck! I think either option will look great!

I am planning to use the exact same color scheme as far as the chair covers and linens are concerned. I am planning to use the Traditions damask fabric (the one on the left). I am planning on doing squares instead of table runners. You can find the fabric for about $6-$7 per yard, and it’s cheaper to do squares!
When are you getting married? I would love to see what it all looks like together!
My wedding will be in December 2009. I would be interested in buying the squares and silver chargers from you, if that’s what you decide to use.
Good luck, and happy planning!

Another damask bride. I like the traditions although I went with madison table runners that will be on my black linens.

I’m a little partial to #1, because that’s the material we’re using to make our runners with. It’s super cheap….less than $7/yd. at Warehouse Fabrics.
I think the pattern flows together better on #1, whereas the pattern seems too choppy and there’s too much white on #2.
Just my opinion, though! =)
