    As a guest, lawn games and roaming sounds fun, but I really dislike not having all of the guests in one room.  (In those situations, I’ve been lucky enough to be with the main crowd, but it sucks to be segregated.)  Based on that, I’d say go Renaissance.

    @MapleMoose: As a NON-dancer this statement about “guests have nowhere to go [to escape the dance floor?] except the attached deck” makes me vote for the OTHER venue!

    It’s not like you’re inviting a bunch of 17 year-old friends who are going to be sneaking off to make out in the private areas!  Theses are your friends and family, they’ll come to celebrate with you, they’re going to mingle and be near you.  If you do go with Elm Bank, you might want to have a sign or DJ announcement with the times of big events – first dances, cake cutting, tosses, if they don’t immediately follow the meal.
