So my fiance and I are in love with this one venue (Cannons Seafood Grill) but we are worried that a certain number of people will feel segregated. Our guest list is 250 people (hoping this number will dwindle down as we get closer to the big day…) The venue says it can fit up to 300 people. Below is a link to some photos of how the tables are set out and if you go through them you can see what I mean by a segregated section. I’ve also posted a few pix.
Do you think since we have so many people we shouldn’t have our reception at this location because people will feel segregated? I don’t want people leaving feeling like they weren’t a part of things but I read reviews of people that have had their receptions there with up to 280 people and they said everything was great (of course that was the bride and groom reviewing the location not the guests.)
Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

You make a good point about the reviews coming from the bride and groom… but to be honest, if your guests were to feel isolated and segregated, then they should get up and go mingle with other tables. Also as the new bride and groom, it is your job to go around to each table during the reception to say hello, thank everyone for coming and an opportunity for more photo opps.
But if the majority of your guests are really shy…. and you want everyone to mingle, then this place may not be for you… but what if you had a buffet meal instead of a seated plated meal? That will encourage mingling. Also you and your DJ could come up with some fun games to play where the guests will have to get up and talk to other tables around them. That may just help.
But I think if you 2 love this location, then why not? Your guests are here to witness and celebrate your new lives together, not to just come and eat and complain about things! (But if you 2 still have doubts, then continue looking at other venues. Hopefully those will be close to the scenery you see here at this venue… if not, then you know where you should have your reception) And who knows, maybe your guests will love tihs location just as the 2 of you have already.
