- Wedding: February 2012
I have two bridesmen who are a bit on the unreliable side, I have found- flaking on promises (i.e. offering assistance then dropping off the face of the earth). I haven’t really asked anything of the bridal party at this point aside from asking them to take care of their wardrobe, which, for the guys, is just ANY black suit and white dress shirt. I’ve handled all the meetings and DIYs myself only inviting people to join when it is convenient for them or they are interested, so I don’t think I’m bridezilla material (though perspective on this is always welcome).
Here’s my issue: I have about 6 weeks to the wedding and they have not purchased their suits yet. I got an email last week telling me that they were having them made within the week and I shouldn’t worry, but knowing how long these things can take and that they haven’t been the most responsible makes not worrying impossible. I haven’t heard ANYTHING since, despite a promise to update me.
Due to some other issues with a groomsman, we had to take a hard line about the men’s outfits (much drama, which Fiance handled), but I really don’t want to have to tell two of my best friends that they can’t walk down the aisle. Has anyone else encountered this? How did you handle it?
