@princesslettuce14:  lovely bride rushed me through the floor very, very quickly. they give you an hour, that’s it. i was very open minded and wanted to try a few different styles but the girl helping me basically made me pick one “look” and gave me a few dresses that fit the bill… i wasn’t even looking during high season (it was mid-summer) so i’m not sure why the rush. that was kind of off putting and needless to say, i didn’t find anything there. you may need more than one trip or, to make it worth your while, decide which designers/cuts you would like to focus on in advance. hope that helps!

I went to Lovely and it was an okay experience.  The woman who helped me was very nice.  But their dressing room was really just a curtain that didn’t close all the way, so I was flashing the store the entire time.  My biggest problem though was that pretty much 98% of their dresses are made of organza, and I really hate organza.  They also didn’t really have any beaded corset dresses, which is what I went in wanting.  So, there just wasn’t much there that fit my style.

It’s a perfectly nice store though!  If you’re in NYC, it’s worth going to in my opinion (unless you hate organza too).  😉

I guess I am alittle biased because I interned at Lovely Bride NYC, but I love this store. The girls there are super sweet and the shop is really cute. I think you should go with an open mind and give it a try!

I’ve been to Gabriella’s.  It was the first time I have ever been to a wedding shop.  They were so nice!!!  I went with 2 friends and it was obvious that I wasn’t going to buy a dress that day.  We were acting silly and trying on a bunch of crazy dresses.  They still treated me like I was the most important client ever.  They let me try on a bunch of dresses and I felt very welcomed.

@princesslettuce14:  yes absolutely! I would say have in mind the kind of style you like and they will bring you anything that fits in that category. I know they have some new consultants so I don’t exactly know how the appointment will be run. The first thing in the appointment you will walk thru the racks with your consultant so you can point out which dresses you really like. I hope this helps! Have fun!
