It’s not the same situation, but… It’s a 12 hour flight between my sister and I, so I was there the two weeks leading up to the wedding and she will be around the week leading up to mine.  I threw my sister a spa day/bridal shower the week before the wedding because that’s when I had time to do it. We had a very, very generous friend of the family who plans weddings for a living be the DOC for my sister, so while I offered to help everything was pretty well taken care of so I didn’t really need to do anything. When my sister comes for mine, I’m not sure there will really be a ton for her to do, but I guess I’ll find out.

Honestly, my Maid/Matron of Honor did zero the week leading up to my wedding besides the rehearsal dinner and the wedding itself. My mom and I had it covered and we really didn’t need her help.

I say, plan a bachelorette get-together over her Spring Break, schedule some wedding-related things so that she can feel like she is part of the process and then still have your wedding in April. That way, she doesn’t feel left out and you don’t have to have your wedding in bad weather.
