Hello Bees,
So, although not engaged yet, my SO and I discuss marriage/wedding A LOT and make loose plans sometimes. While we planned to have a Spring 2016 wedding, last night while chatting we both admitted that we really don’t want to wait that long! This would mean pushing it up to Spring of 2015, leaving us with a little over a year to plan. I didn’t want to plan anything til I got a ring, but I guess that may be negotiable.
However, the reason we wanted to wait 2 years is so we would have that extra time to plan and save up. We are still pretty young as well. If we did decide to move it up, I feel like we would be just barely scraping by to have a decent wedding. So the dilemma is, we love eachother so much and could honestly get married tomorrow, and it would be hard to wait 2 years, but I just worry moving it up would make everything rushed and more stressful on us.
So my question is: A) Bees who had a 2ish year engagement — was it absolutely tortuous to wait that long? Do you wish it would have been sooner, even if that meant having less time/money to plan with? B) Bees who decided not to wait as long, do you wish you would have waited another year so you had that extra time/money? Did it feel rushed at all?
Your input is appreciated! Thanks 🙂
