So I’m in the process of planning my wedding now and I’ve found a beautiful dress on David’s Bridal wesbite that I’m in love with! It’s on sale for an amazing price ($300!) and I really want to buy it. They only have it in sizes 4, 6 & 8 on their website. I’m an 8 in most clothes, but I’ve heard dresses run small. I’m just worried that it won’t fit and I’ll need a bigger size. I know i can send it back, but If I would go to the store and try it on, would they be able to order it in a bigger size if need be? I’m just wondering if anyone has had a similar experience or any guidance! Thank you in advance 🙂

When I tried dresses at David’s they were in the same size as my street clothes. I would say go for it as long as it’s not a final sale. Also, they may not be able to order a larger size in the store if they only have a few sizes online, sounds like it might be discontinued.

Have you been there to try on dresses yet in the store?
I just went to David’s on friday and had such an amazing experiemce getting to try on different styles to find what I liked. The dresses do run small and pretty tight, and that was just the samples. I am a size x-small in tops and 0-2 in Jeans and my dress size at David’s was a 4.

I’d try on, have them measure you, and order in store. Anything you see online can be ordered in store and they’ll match their online sales and prices if you ask.

I haven’t been in the store to try on dresses yet. The closest one to me is an hour away, and I work second shift, so it’s kind of difficult to find time to go. 🙁 thanks for your input! I appreciate it!

I really suggest going in an trying a bunch of dresses in a style you like. The size and even the way a dress looks is so different on yourself than on a website model. I was an Oct. 14th DB bride. The dress try on experience is fantastic

I had my heart set on one dress that they had online before I went in to try it on. Then it was “discontinued” when I went in to try it on so I tried on another dress and bought that one. Then I found the original dress that I loved on their website for less than half price and I bought it right away. I’m glad I tried on the first dress I bought because I was totally wrong about my size. But I’m also glad I bought it because the second one wasn’t a clear enough picture and the skirt was a totally different shape and material than it looked like, so now I have to Frankenstein the two dresses together. I’m not saying don’t buy the dress as soon as possible, but definitely try on some other dresses to be sure of your size. Also, if it’s not David’s Bridal brand, a different store may carry some other dresses from the same designer that you can try on for fit and not have to go an hour away.

I recently bought my wedding dress from David’s and while there the wonderful associate who helped me explained that the online portion of their stores are not actually linked to the physical stores. If you order a dress online, the store will not have any tracking information, they just receive the dress. The dresses online are not always going to be at the store as most of them have been discontinued at the physical store.
She also explained that wedding dresses run about 2 sizes smaller and most brides will have to size up. I’m my case I had to size up various times to accommodate for the size of my chest, and get alterations done for what fit loose.
