I put mine on the gentlest cycle available. And it does fine. I don’t know what type of washer you have, but make sure the comforter has room around it when you put it in. You want it to be able to move around in the washer, so it doesn’t come out with detergent on it and/or balled up. You also want to make sure there is room for it to move during the spin cycle, so it is not drenched when you go to put it in the dryer. I also wash mine on the cold/cold cycle to keep the color. Over time warm and/or hot water will fade the color.

You need to make sure that your washer is big enough.  I think most side loaders now can fit a queen.  I agree with noritake’s suggestions though!
