A welcome BBQ should be casual – I’d say hotdogs, hamburgers, and regular BBQ food. Your wedding will probably be planned to the smallest detail, why not go easy on this party?

@AlwaysSunny:  Agrees. May want to include a vegetarian option…maybe pick up a box of boca burgers. Otherwise just some cold salads on the side?

I would keep it simple: hotdogs, hamburgers, kabobs (vegetable/chicken and plain vegetable for any vegetarians), grilled corn, and then some cold salads and possibly baked beans (keep warm in a crockpot).  Sounds like fun!

we are doing a welcome party/rehersal party combined as we don’t have a lot of time.  alot of our out of town guests are coming into town a couple days b4 the wedding and leaving the day after the wedding.. so we decided that this worked for us.   We are having our wedding on the east coast of canada so lobster and steak are the menu, and lots of beer of course.  Go with what suits you, i think the bbq is a great idea, keep it simple but have some choice… Sounds like it will be a great time no matter what you serve 😉
