@bluejaybride:  It looks like their tagline is “cottage charm, modern sophistication.” I would aim for a slightly dressy garden party vibe. Something like this this or this maybe.

Don’t overthink it. Just wear a knee length black dress. You’ll look nice and won’t stand out

l agree with pps advice about not overthinking it. A nice solid colour knee length dress, not too naked and probably a bit more formal than the flowery ones in the first pps post would be fine l think.

I always assume cocktail attire unless it’s like in a backyard or something like that.

Dress code is actually not appropriate to include with the exception of a venue restriction or black tie.

As for attire, a traditional indoor wedding in Ohio this June? My regrets.

Outdoors, according to the weather, but a cocktail dress and suits are the default wedding guest attire. If it’s going to be a bit more chilly, I’d do dressy separates and a wrap.

I’d go with a knee/calf length dress and heels, but maybe choose a slightly fancier/more evening fabric like a jacquard or a metallic or something. I’m thinking like these:

ASOS Premium Pencil Dress In Floral Jacquard - Lyst

I would wear a linen or cotton sleeveless black dress, sleeping beauty turquoise necklace, a couple of SB bracelets, strappy sandals,  small diamond studs and a small vintage handbag.

@bluejaybride:  I wouldnt worry too much just as long as you feel comfortable, and the outfit is appropiate as in not too short or revealing you’ll be good to go.

I think these dresses are perfect for the wedding you described;

Colours can be important too but it all depends on the bride, i would avoid wearing white and or red.

Some people also think its disrepectful to wear the same colour as the bridesmaids! i know this from experience… i wore navy to my partners work friends wedding i had no idea the bridesmaids were wearing navy and i wore a navy dress the bride was absolutely fine about it as was the groom, but a guest on the grooms side of the family questioned why i wore navy and said it was rude as i wasnt part of the bridal party! lol!
